The Saddlery School

The Saddlery School in Tärnsjö is the only higher vocational education in the Nordic countrys specializing in saddlery and leathercraft. Since the beginning in 1993, we have worked to preserve and develop this ancient craft, where every detail requires skill, accuracy and passion. Here we train the saddlemakers of the future with a unique combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern knowledge.

Our school offers specialized training in equestrian sports, auto upholstery, bags and interior saddlery. Regardless of the specialization you choose, you will learn the basics of leather work and advanced techniques under the guidance of experienced vocational teachers. We value quality and creating products that combine function with safety and durability.

Form of study: 615 HVE credits (3 years), full-time, daytime
Language of instruction: Swedish, but English may occur
Award: Higher Vocational Education Diploma (SeQF: 5)

The structure of the education:
The first semester consists of a basic course, where the students get to know different materials, tools and machines.
From the second semester, the education is adapted according to specialization.
The third and fourth semesters each contain an 8-week workplace training (LIA)
In the fifth semester, there is an opportunity for a further 12-week workplace training.
During the Sixth semester, which is the last, a degree project is carried out
